Rare Late 19th-Century Hair Reliquary with memento mori skull Size : 71 cm highLate 19th Century Hair Reliquary Antique late 19th century mourning hair reliquary, featuring a delicate arrangement of woven human hair and dried flowers beneath glass. At the centre of the floral composition is a small skull shaped motif, giving the piece a subtle memento mori character. Set in its original black wooden frame with a gilt metal mount. An unusual and evocative example of Victorian mourning art. Height: 14 cm.
